For wooden treasures that are used for food preparation or presentation (cutting boards and charcuterie boards), I water-treat each board before applying a food-safe finish (mineral oil and beeswax).  Please note that if you own one of my creations, do not wash in a dishwasher.  Just use warm, soapy water and allow to dry.  Re-apply a finish to the board to extend its life.
